There are several ways to avoid the inactive member fee by performing any of the following transactions or account updates:
- Cash or check deposit*
- Cash or check withdrawal
- Write a check (and it clears)
- Make a transfer
- Bill payment through Provident's Bill Payment online service
- Open a new Term Share Certificate
- Call us at (800) 632-4600 to make an account inquiry
- Sign-on to online banking
- Update your address, e-mail address, or phone number by phone at (800) 632-4600, in branch, within online banking, or mail to:

Redwood City, CA 94063 - Also, the inactivity fee will not be charged if any of the following conditions are met:
- You are a minor; under the age of 18
- You currently have regular Automatic Transfers being made from another account
- You currently have regular Direct Deposit of your paycheck distributed into a Provident account
- You have an active account that is linked by the same SSN as the primary or joint number
- Your deposit accounts (checking, savings, certificates, etc.) have a total aggregate balance of $500 or more
- You have a certificate on deposit with Provident
- You have a loan product at Provident that you are making payments to, which is attached to the same member number
* Does not include balance inquiries performed at an ATM or via phone banking.
