In order to submit a direct dispute to Provide Credit Union, the filer must:
- Submit the request in writing
- Identify the account in dispute
- Specify the nature of the dispute
- Provide supporting documentation substantiating the reason for dispute (i.e. a Police Report and account statements) in cases of identity theft.

Please note that Provident will not investigate frivolous or irrelevant disputes including situations involving:
- The failure of a consumer to provide sufficient information to investigate the disputed information
- The submission of a dispute that is substantially the same as a dispute previously submitted by or on behalf of the consumer, either directly to the credit union or through a credit reporting agency to which the credit union already completed an investigation
- Disputes received from "Credit Doctors" (companies who allegedly "repair" credit)
